Hi, I'm Nic. I joined Alcombe last year as a locum nurse but quickly became a more permanent member of the team. I qualified as an RVN in 2020 after making the leap from a 20-year career in journalism. Starting a new career in my 40’s wasn’t easy, but it turned out to be one of the best decisions I've ever made. Nursing animals and getting to know their owners is incredibly rewarding, and it feels a real privilege to do this every day.  

Outside of work I’m mum to two teenage children and our bruiser of a cat, Colin. We all like hanging out together, travelling round the UK and Europe as well as going to music festivals in our camper van – although Colin’s more of a sofa surfer than crowd surfer, so stays at home.
